Boosting a post is equivalent to Sharing it.  Both terms are used interchangeably on the Fediverse.

When you boost, you are choosing to share the post with your own Followers, out with that of the original poster&#039;s reach.  It is a great way to share information, and also grow your and others reach.  More people will see the content, and may therefore interact/follow you or the original poster.</description>
